Job Description:
- The Senior Staff Employee Relations Specialist conducts moderate to complex investigations and manages performance management cases in alignment with legal, industry, and AMD best practices. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of collaboration and initiative, as well as critical and objective judgment in providing guidance, support and recommendations to resolve employee relations concerns and support a diverse and inclusive culture and work environment. This position requires both hands-on and strategic expertise, with a next-level customer service orientation in all aspects of execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Point of contact for employees and leadership for any type of conflict resolution.
- Ensure timely and compliant handling of all assigned performance management, grievance, discipline and policy interpretation requests.
- Work collaboratively on employee relations matters such as corrective actions including warnings or performance improvement plans.
- Conduct fair and thorough investigations through resolution. Maintain accurate files, documentation and follow-up.
- Make suggestions to leaders and HR Business Partners on employee engagement, policy or process improvements based on trends.
- Support interactive processes with employees seeking a reasonable accommodation in partnership with Benefits and Legal.
- Participates in the development and delivery of management training programs designed to advance the employee relations skills of people managers.
- Support all Labour compliance activities/audits and state laws.
- Facilitate training to build employee relations skills among people managers.
- Assist with ad-hoc employee relations and HR department projects.
- Improving employee experience in HR areas such as onboarding, offboarding and compliance activities/audits
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Progressive HR experience gained through increasingly responsible positions within Human Resources with a particular focus on employee relations.
- Experience in a high growth environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to determine the root cause of issues.
- Highly collaborative and able to work both within and across teams.
- Ability to work through ambiguity, think creatively, be flexible and roll-up your sleeves.
- Exceptional communication skills, including group presentation and relationship development skills.
- Professional, confident manner and poised and articulate demeanor.
